Clinical Placements Program

FRONT PAGE IMAGE: 2016 Clinical Placement students Phoebe Shiu (left) and Dayae Lah  completed the John James Foundation program in Canberra as part of their final year of medical studies.

Each year the John James Foundation hosts a group of final year medical students from  James Cook University, Qld,  as part of the Specialist Elective (Clinical Placements) Program.

The program exposes students to a broad range of medical specialities.  Students spend time in medical laboratories and specialists’ private rooms and watch surgery from operating theatres at Calvary John James Hospital. Feedback shows students value the opportunity provided by the program to help them learn about ‘real life’ situations and specialities they would not otherwise be exposed to during their medical training.

Students who will participate in 2017 have now been selected. Information about clinical placement opportunties in 2018 will be available soon.
